I finally found the Salt my life has needed this whole time.
I’ve been craving a nice, juicy burger for at least a week. I was invited to someone’s house last night (I hate obligations of any sort, especially social ones), and M made it up to me by taking me to Salt right after. YAY!
Salt is located on the Kite Beach in Jumeirah 1. It’s a UAE brand that started only a year ago, but by the looks of how long the line of people waiting to place their orders was, Salt has made it!
They have so many customers that they’ve actually set up two really nicely done, laid back dining areas; one under the open sky, and one in an air conditioned glass enclosure, both with sand in your toes!
They’ve cracked the secret to success, i.e., they’re not biting off more than they can chew. It’s a food truck at the end of the day, so they’ve got a very simple menu, with only three items to offer. The Hook Burger, The Original, and The Chicken Cheetos burger. The first two come in options of single patty and double patty. Then they have some drinks, a soft serve, and that’s about it.
We got an order of Hook single and a Hook Double. Each order comprises of two sliders. With that, we ordered some cheese fries. Bear in mind that we had sort of eaten before we went there, so what we ordered was enough. If you’re going there on a famished stomach, you’re gonna need two orders of whatever you’re getting. Although the sliders at Salt are bigger than usual sliders, they’re still sliders at the end of the day.
We had to wait a good 45 minutes for our food but it was well worth it. This was, without doubt, the BEST beef burger I’ve ever sank my teeth into. I’m picky when it comes to beef burgers. I hate Shake Shack’s burger offerings. So imagine what it means, coming from me, when I say I savored every bite of this tender, juicy, cheesy beefy goodness at Salt!
Crossword on the napkin to keep you busy while you wait for your food. Too bad I only received this napkin with my food :/
The fries were exactly like McDonald’s fries (skinny, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside)+ cheese – which is a very, very good thing, ok.
After our meal, we went to the mosque right across the street to pray Fajr, and then went home to sleep till Jumm’ah. That’s what I call Ramadan Kareem 😀
