Why I love Berryfect Bilberry.

January 6, 2017 , Haiya

This post is in collaboration with Bilberry. The opinions stated within are entirely mine.

I’m a complete impulsive maniac when it comes to buying supplements. I truly believe that adding all the supplements to my breakfast undoes the damage (to some extent) that we cause to our bodies by eating all the junk that’s completely devoid of nutrition (thank you, GMO). I also try to substitute unhealthier ingredients for healthier ones all the time. For instance, instead of store-bought jam, I make my jam at home, with no sugar, and chia seeds as a thickener. One of my favorite breakfast supplements, is Bilberry. The reason is very simple: it’s downright delicious. Unlike Acai powder (which tastes like death released from a capsule), it actually elevates the flavor of my breakfast bowl. I love the vibrant purple galaxy my yogurt starts to look like when I swirl in my Bilberry, and that’s only the visual appeal.

Bilberry is an arctic superfood from Finland, and what I consider a blessing in disguise in the Middle East.

The reason is simple: berries in the Middle East are substandard and expensive because they’re always imported. A single 3g sachet of Bilberry powder packs the same nutrition as 30 whopping grams of bilberries.

They are very close to blueberries but not the same. One of the most obvious differences is that they are completely blue, inside out; while blueberries are yellow-green on the inside. Also, bilberries are richer in flavonoids than blueberries.

To say that I’m a loyal, regular user of Bilberry, and now newer variants of Berryfect powders, would be an understatement of the decade. All of them have very distinct tastes, all very enjoyable.

  1. Another berryholic here, hooked badly on these powders. No longer need to carry frozen bilberries from Finland with me 😉 Your bowls look amazing. I would only watch them and feel bad to eat. Art work.

When I make chia&raspberry jam, it is lasting 1, max 2 days. Can you guess why? THE KIDS.
